Azpilicueta was a key figure in last season's Barclays Premier League title success, which saw us go unbeaten on home soil throughout the campaign and lift the trophy at home on the final day of the season, before embarking on a victory parade around the surrounding streets a day later.

Football returns for the first time tonight when we face Fiorentina, and the Spain international is looking forward to playing in front of home support once more.

'We are looking forward to coming again to our stadium, to be together with the fans and obviously looking forward to starting the season after that in the Premier League,' he said.

'It's a friendly game for our fans but we have to treat it as the last game before the start of the season and try to be 100 per cent ready for Swansea City on Saturday.'

Recalling his last time at the Bridge, Azpilicueta cannot help but smile, picturing the thousands of fans lining the streets to congratulate the squad on their achievements. It will serve as motivation for the forthcoming campaign.

'Very good memories,' the full-back nodded. 'It was all our efforts during the season that came together in that moment and we have to think about it a lot to be there again at the end of the season.'

It all starts again tonight, with each member of the squad to be presented to the crowd from 7pm. Supporters are advised to arrive early, and consider the possible effects of the scheduled 24-hour tube strike which begins at 6.30pm.
